These beautiful reclaimed wood signs share a secret or three. They are preserved from a special source and the wax dipping technique used is totally intriguing! But the fact that they 'talk' does it for me.
Beth's Granny had a favorite expression. She'd often use the phrase, "Glory Be!" when excited about something. So when Granny's house was recently renovated, Beth had a brainstorm on how to utilize the salvaged wood.
Random pieces of the house's siding were glued and mounted together, to create a platform for a sign. It's beautiful just like that, but it gets even better!
A wax dipped technique was used for the printed lettering, which created a cool dimension along the torn edge of the paper. Layered with some burlap, the sign became a work of art, geared to be a cherished memory maker.

Aside from the fact that the sign is BEAUTIFUL, the voice behind this one wins for me. I can nearly hear Granny's exuberant "Glory Be!" without having met her. It's much like a song... if you put the words up, you will hear the melody. Sweet idea, Beth!
