So, what's one to do if they have a yard with no shade? This homeowner created her own out of a bit of lumber, dressed up with old recycled windows!
Karen was so done with having a yard with no shade. She waited forever but finally hooked up with her hubby to get a standard pergola built. She then put the finishing personal touches on it herself.
Removing the glass, she painted up and attached the window frames, to provide not only some personality, but also for the plants to hang onto something.

Alright, let me just start off by saying, this idea is KILLER. Pergolas don't have to be hugely elaborate. Two main posts and a couple beams running across doesn't sound like much, but with the added windows, it's PERFECT and could squeak anywhere into anyone's yard.
The colourful window frames add just the right amount of quirkiness to make it yours. Adore this! And I want one! Maybe start small as an arbour.... hmmm....
